Bleach Nail Fungus Remedy
A household item considered as the cheapest toenail fungus home remedy is bleach. Household bleach or sodium hypochlorite is used to clean, whiten and disinfect clothes, floors and lavatories. It’s efficiency in killing microbes especially bacteria is by attacking its protein. Since it is a synthetic chemical, using bleach as toenail fungus home remedy should be practiced with caution. Diluting it with water before soaking the infected toenails or whole feet is advised. The proportion of bleach solution is one part bleach and ten parts water, soaking infected toenail for fifteen to thirty minutes. This is done once a week. In addition to the soaking procedure, infected nail must be cut and filed reducing length and thickness for better penetration of bleach to the nail. After the soak, rinse the feet thoroughly in cold water and dry very well. Cold water protects the skin from the chemical toxins from the bleach by closing the pores. For added protection from recurrence of infection, antifungal solution is applied daily on toenails. As hindsight, bleach is too corrosive and toxic for a toenail fungus home remedy. The skin is likely to absorb the toxins in the chemical solution. It may whiten the infected nail and in the process kill the fungi but is not efficient as a stand alone toenail fungus home remedy. It still needs to be matched with other antifungal solutions. Although it presents as a cheap home remedy for toenail fungus infection, the health hazards should be weighed. There are other solutions to toenail fungus infection.
